Hi I’m Lulu,
Welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit this blog. I started writing this blog as a way to express my love and passion for food but in recent times my focus has had to change to not just my love of food but needing to develop and write easy, short and tasty recipes for those cooks who maybe not just short on time, let’s be honest, which is most of us really in this helter skelter world but also those who may have issues such as lack of mobility, dexterity issues, physical tiredness, fatigue which is a very difficult problem to discuss and understand which brings the emotional side in as well. The list is endless. I myself am not able to stand for too long or walk as well as I used to but i am determined to keep going as I love cooking and I know how much pleasure it brings to everyone when I bake a cake ! It’s very therapeutic for me to see and hear that! It’s also a much needed issue to be addressed which is why I have introduced this focus to my blog. It is reality for many but often many do not like acknowledging to such issues but maybe this might help others too.
Why the Mediterranean? I spent many of my younger years in Cyprus enjoying the unique fresh delicious tastes of that beautiful Mediterranean island, and have family there to this day. I was fortunate to visit Lebanon, Beirut specifically, known as the Paris of the Middle East and lived in the Arabian Gulf for several years and now live in France! The photo is actually taken in the Historic Bastide town of Eymet, in South Western France. We are sitting on the fountain in ‘Place Gambetta’ a must if you are ever in South West France. A great place to sit and cool a little on the buzzy Thursday market day.
My culinary adventures and experiences continue to be extensive, exciting and I would love to share them with you as I continue to learn, and hoping I can inspire you to get into the kitchen with me and that you will also share inspire me with your experiences and ideas too. That’s what food is all about after all. Sharing and learning together, the gathering of good friends, new friends and family making memories with one another.
